Thriller novels and gastronomy were once again in the spotlight in Lyon! Following a successful edition that featured the participation of Cape Town and Lisbon, the 19th edition of the renowned book festival, the Quais Du Polar, took place from March 31st to April 2nd, 2023. This time, the festival centered around an exciting collaboration between the cities of Barcelona and Lyon, providing a platform for discussion and exchange.
On Sunday, April 2nd , 2023, participants had the chance to learn more about a literary collaboration between two authors from Lyon and Barcelona: Rosa Montero and Olivier Truc (co-authors of “L'inconnue du port”, a novel published on March 10th,2023) and Carlos Zanón (writer and commissioner of the BCNegra festival).
This led to another collaboration, this time culinary, at the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie de Lyon: in this emblematic venue, two chefs from Barcelona (Beltran Sastre and Erola Vila from restaurant Echegaray) came for a pairing with two chefs from Lyon (Olivier Canal from bouchon La Meunière and freelance Michelin Star Chef Alain Alexanian).
In the manner described in the book L'inconnue du Port, participants were taken, for one morning, into the realm of detective fiction set between Lyon and Barcelona.
On the menu: a literary meeting between famous French and Spanish thriller authors, a visit to the culinary space of the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie, free visit to the exhibitions of the Cité...and a special tasting of the famous Spanish tapas, with a lyonnaise touch, prepared live by the 4 Chefs.

- Pike quenelle fries with crayfish mayonnaise

- The “bugnes lyonnaise” with pink praline from La Meunière
