Annual General Meeting

in Stavanger

Will be held from September 23rd to September 25th the eleventh Annual General Meeting of Délice Network, welcomed and organized by the city of Stavanger, Norway.

The AGM is happening at the same moment as the Nordic Edge Expo, the second largest Smart City event in Europe. The Délice gathering will focus on Smart and sustainable food in the MICE Market an innovative but essential subject when it comes to food and gastronomy.

The AGM will be the occasion for the Délice members to discuss on various topics concerning food and gastronomy, and to share privileged moments to exchange and to consolidate the links between Délice cities. It will also be the occasion to introduce the new Executive Committee composed of Brussels, Cape Winelands, Stavanger, Lyon, Tucson and Barcelona.

Chef Challenge
For the occasion, seven chefs from Délice member cities will create and offer one or two dishes of their own to the 6 000 people expected to the Nordic Edge Expo. This Chef Challenge is a unique occasion to showcase so many gastronomic and culinary cultures. The chefs will make the most of this time to share and gather their expertise on the topic.

Chefs from seven worldwide member cities will work together to offer to thousands of people, during three days, meals and dishes from all around the world, using local ingredients only.  A tremendous way to learn, share and connect.  

Participating chefs
Maris Jansons – Riga, Latvia

One of our seven chefs expected for the Nordic Edge expo is Maris Jansons, chef of the Kest Restaurant in Latvia. Author of the “Modern Latvian Cuisine”, Chef Jansons brings together culinary heritage and modern trends. He will represent the City of Riga, Latvia at the Nordic Edge Expo in Stavanger.

Christian Mandura – Torino, Italy
Another chef who accepted to take on the Chef Challenge on the occasion of the Nordic Edxe Expo in Stavanger is Christian Mandura, chef of the Unforgettable restaurant in Torino. Brought into the kitchen by his mother, Chef Mandura built his expertise in the top best restaurants of Europe, and mostly Italia.

Tomonori Matsushima – Kobe, Japan
With a menu mixing both Occidental and Japanese culture, Chef Matsushima will represent the city of Kobe, Japan, at the Nordic Edge Expo in Stavanger . In his restaurant in Kobe, Chef Matsushima pays close attention to communicate with local producers to choose the ingredients, and express the sense of seasons that the Japanese have cultivated.

Todd Sicolo- Tucson, USA
Coming from the USA, Chef Todd Sicolo will represent the city of Tucson, Arizona, during the Nordic Edge expo in Stavanger. With nearly 20 years in the culinary world and hospitality industry, Sicolo’s background is a testament to his dedication to a top notch food and beverage operation. As executive chef, Sicolo oversees the Westward Look resort’s banquets, room service and outlets, including Lookout Bar & Grill and the iconic GOLD.

Ibrahim Doga Citci – Gaziantep, Turkey
One of our seven chefs to be expected for the Nordic Edge expo is Ibrahim Doga Citci, official Culinary Coordinator of the City of Gaziantep, Turkey. Through his different activities, Chef Doga Citci promote Gaziantep gastronomy around the world.

Yves Mattagne – Brussels, Belgium
Honoured with two stars from Michelin Guide, Yves Mattagne expresses his culinary talent in the meals proposed in the worldwide reknown Sea Grill Restaurant, located in Brussels. For the occasion of the Nordic Edge Expo, Chef Mattagne will introduce an original and creative revisit of one of the most famous Belgian snacks, savoury waffles.

Sergio Gil – Barcelona, Spain
Our last chef participating to the Chef Challenge at the Nordic Edge expo is Sergio Gil. From Barcelona, Chef Gil is a multitalented entrepreneur. Restaurateur, chef and director of Grupo Taberna y Cafetin Barcelona, he is also the creator of Gastropology, a discipline inspired by the methodology of social and cultural Anthropology. He will represent his native city at the occasion of the Chef Challenge at the Nordic Edge Expo.
