Lyon Street Food Festival 2023

June 26, 2023

Tucson in the spotlight

The festivities were in full swing in Lyon for the 7th annual Lyon Street Food Festival, which took place from June 15 to 18.

Like every year the food organization, Nomad Kitchens, planned the 7th edition of the famous Lyon Street Food Festival. A long-awaited festival, highly recognized in the city of Lyon and its locals. Every year, thousands of visitors come to enjoy dishes from around the world, and passionate individuals work and make these week-ends memorable for visitors.

Some figures for the 2023 edition:
45 000 attendees
400+ workshops
120 chefs
160 000 food portions

The Lyon Street Food Festival is a festival which aims to mix in one place cuisine, culture and music. A moment of entertainment, fun, and culture sharing. Each year visitors get to immerse themselves in different culture through food, music and workshops. And this year this successful event not only featured a diverse range of delectable cuisines and workshops but also welcomed the city of Tucson through a partnership with Délice to showcase their culinary delights.

Following the success of previous editions which hosted Délice cities Bordeaux, Helsinki, Hong Kong, Izmir, Kobe, Madrid, and Montréal, the presence of Tucson added an American taste to the festival.

No dull moment during these four days thanks to a full and varied program. Further than Tucson, visitors had the opportunity to visit two other destinations: Rennes (France), and Asia. They could partake in cooking workshops, attend dance battles and music concerts, all in one place!

Tucson has never been this close to home for the Lyonnais!

Visitors had the opportunity to eat some of Tucson’s very special delicacies prepared by the chefs Charles "CJ" Hamm, Max Provost, Nohemi Estrada, Kyrie McRoy, Robert Kowaslke, Katie Hughes, Nick Rios, Allen Wagnon, Ryan Browell and Hannah Rooks.
4 specials on the menu: Sonoran hot dogs, Elote Cocktail, Taco de flora and Nopales ensalada

Attendees also enjoyed traditional country music performances and witnessed country dancers in action. They could participate in cooking classes and even make origamis in the Wild West style.

The festival concluded on a high note, making way for preparations for the 8th edition of the Lyon Street Food Festival next year.
